The Benefits of Pre-Booking Your Starter Plants
Every year we urge you to pre-book your starter plants. We’re not just trying to get sales on the books; we’re trying to make sure you get what you need to succeed.
Our availability is first-come, first-serve. Simply put, if you want specific plants at a specific time, you should book in advance. There’s usually no money down, and you’ll have a bit of peace of mind about your next season.
So why pre-book?
Firstly, the best way to secure the inventory of what you want is to book early. The orders we take are based on our availability. If the availability numbers are not there, we cannot accept an order for that item. There’s no harm in calling us to double-check the online availability — but expect the answer to be no. As orders are placed, our availability numbers are updated. So when you place an order for 100 Coleus for January, the availability number for coleus in January is reduced by 100.
Secondly, pre-booking is easy. There is usually no money down to secure your order. If you’re paying by card, we will keep the card number on file, but our policy is not to charge until the order ships. Paying in advance is possible if you would like to put a deposit on an order for budgeting reasons.
Thirdly, pre-booking will give you peace of mind and put you a step ahead of your competition. Once you place your pre-order for the upcoming season, you’re done. Your plants are on the books, and all you have left to do is make sure you’re ready for their arrival. There’s no more worrying about if you’re going to get what you need!
But we’re not just talking about plants…
Once your starter plugs are booked, place your order for supplies and soil. You won’t be able to grow a quality plant without pots or soil! Order early to make sure you can get your supplies and soil in advance, so they’re ready for your plants when they arrive. We recommend having your supplies delivered 3-4 weeks before your plants. That way, if any issues arise with those, you will have time to respond accordingly.
There are many benefits to pre-booking. The alternative, however, is not so fun. Make sure you’re not scrambling to order whatever is leftover just to fill your greenhouse.
